There is no ChamberSathi user account and no ChamberSathi cloud sync backend in this version. We do not operate a server that receives your case contents.
1. Who we are
ChamberSathi (“we”) publishes the Android app ChamberSathi (package
com.chambersathi.app). This policy describes how the app handles information
on your device and the limited cases where data may leave the device.
Contact: chambersathi@gmail.com
2. Data stored on your device
The following stay in an encrypted local database (SQLCipher) and the app’s sandboxed file storage on your phone:
- Profile, clients, cases, hearings, tasks, events, documents, and payments
- App unlock PIN (stored as a salted hash) and related security settings
- Local encrypted backups you create (you choose where to save the file)
The database encryption key is kept in the OS secure keystore (via the platform secure storage API), not in a plain file you can copy. Unlocking the UI with PIN or biometrics does not send those secrets to ChamberSathi.
Device permissions are used only on this phone. Camera, photo library, and files attach documents to a case in the app sandbox. Local reminders (hearing and task alerts) are scheduled by the operating system — there is no ChamberSathi push server and no notification token is uploaded. Biometrics unlock the app UI on this device only.
3. Data that may leave the device
| Channel | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| OS share sheet or print (you initiate) |
Encrypted .csbak backup; unencrypted JSON export of clients, cases,
hearings, tasks, events, and payments; or a hearing board PDF you generate
|
You choose where the file goes (Files, Drive, email, USB, printer). ChamberSathi does not upload it. |
| Google Play Billing | Purchase, restore, or renewal of the annual Pro subscription on this Android app | Google processes the store transaction. Price is set in Google Play, not by a ChamberSathi server. |
| Firebase Crashlytics (optional) | Crash stack traces; app version and build channel; non-PII feature flags such as whether unlimited-cases is entitled; device model and OS version; an installation identifier; and the IP address used when a report is uploaded to Google | Improve app stability |
Crash reporting is on by default and can be turned off in Settings → Privacy → Share crash reports. Crash reports must not include client names, phone numbers, emails, CNRs, case notes, document file names, backup passphrases, PIN/biometric secrets, or raw license/receipt payloads.
If Crashlytics or Play Billing is unreachable (for example airplane mode), core app features continue to work offline. Crash reports may queue and upload later when a connection is available.
4. What we do not do (v1)
- No ChamberSathi account or login
- No cloud backup or multi-device sync of case data
- No advertising SDK
- No Firebase Auth, Firestore, Storage, Remote Config, or Analytics for product features
- An annual Pro subscription on Android via Google Play does not unlock a Windows product
5. Your choices
- Turn off crash reporting anytime: Settings → Privacy → Share crash reports
- Create or restore an encrypted local backup without involving ChamberSathi servers
- Export an unencrypted JSON copy of chamber records (Settings → Export JSON) if you want to leave for another app — this file is not encrypted; do not share it casually
- Wipe local data from the app (destructive) if you want a clean start
- Manage or cancel Pro in Google Play subscriptions on this Google account
6. Data retention
Practice data remains on the device until you delete records, wipe the app, uninstall, or restore over it from a backup. We do not hold a copy of your chamber on our servers. Google Play and Firebase retain purchase and crash records under their own policies for the limited data described above.
7. Children
ChamberSathi is built for practising advocates and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Third-party services
Google processes Play purchases under the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. If crash reporting is on, Google Firebase Crashlytics processes the diagnostics in section 3 under the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.
ChamberSathi does not sell your information and does not use case contents for advertising.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes that affect Play Data safety will be reflected in the Google Play listing as well.
